Getting Mixed Up

Comments Closed

Okay, I know I just had a giveaway a week ago, but I just have to have another one. Why? Well, the lucky winner hasn't contacted me and I just don't feel right not sending of the dear earrings to someone (hehe, or, per the photo, deer earrings).   So, this giveaway is new and improved because this time there will be two winners and two prizes.  What?  Could she be serious, you ask... oh yes.  Yes, she is very serious.

Prize#1:  Personalized mix cd just for you.  I have shared some lovely music on this little blog and want to share even more.  And do you see that photo above? I just found some great "vinyl" cds, how very retro cool. Now if only I had this to make a modern day mix tape.

Prize#2:  A pair of innertube earrings in the style of your choice (cascading or sweet dangles).  These will be offered in the shop after the giveaway.

How to enter:  Click on the "hears" tab in the menu bar, browsing through the music I have shared so far.  Then comment on this post about which song/artist you like the best and why.  I will create your cd based on what you tell me...plus it will give me an idea of what to share in the future.  WooHoo! If you do not have a registered blogger account please leave a way for me to contact you.  You will have three days to claim your prize.

Entry cut off date:  Friday, February 6th-Noon (PST)

Winners announced:  Saturday, February 7th

Hey girls...I am excited that you are excited. But I still want to know... which is your favorite song/artist?

Antony Johnson and Bon Iver. I wonder, are we both listening to NPR? I haven't listened to current music for years and years, preferring instead to listen to old standards, classical, etc. But I finally entered the 21st century with my recent purchase of an iPod. NPR's All Songs Considered is pointing me toward the best of all the stuff I haven't paid attention to for years. On just one page of your blog I found two of my new favorites, so I'll definitely be checking out more of your blog posts to see what you can recommend.

Did you know that for some readers (well, me) your tabs show up in Greek? Not actual Greek, but Greek letters substituting for our alphabet. I only found the 'hears' tab by hovering over the tabs and then reading the links as they showed up on my status bar.

Despite having just gone on and on and on about the music, I'm also crazy about the cascading innertube earrings, so I'd be wildly happy with either prize.

Off I go to read more of your blog, add your blog to my feedreader and check out your etsy shop.

Through the Morning, Throught the Night by Robert Pland and Alison Krauss and Begars Prayer by Emialiana Torrini are both lovely. I've always loved Alison Krauss' music but I've never heard of Emialiana Torrini before! Thanks for entering me!

It's hard for me to pick a favorite--I love it when you share new music with me. I guess recently I've been in a more mild music mood, so the quiet simple ones have especially called to me. If I have to pick a favorite, it might be beggars prayer, for the uniqueness of her voice.

What an awesome idea! I'll put in an entry, but am perfectly willing to recuse myself since I've won something before.

These are a bit disparate, but I like the jazzy stuff, especially Holly Golightly, and Fujiya Miagi.

You have great taste in music!

Surprisingly, a fair amount of our musical libraries seem to overlap. I'm a big fan of Cibelle and Emiliana Torrini and the like, so it's neat to see that you're giving them some exposure. But I can honestly say that prior to visiting this blog, I had absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of the incredible Peter Fox. Wow. Seriously, thanks. That was nothing I was expecting and everything I needed to be hearing right now. I guess I owe you.

Tiger, My Friend by Psapp is my favorite song! I've never heard of anything like that before! I love the song background. Very unusual. Sweet recommendation! :)

Personally, i'll choose Bitter:Sweet. It makes me want to dance salsa and yet at the same time, it sounds so contemporary. Cool!
